Privacy Policy Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of BacklogDeck at backlogdeck.com, including planning poker sessions, team workspaces and third-party integrations. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you use BacklogDeck for an organization, you must have authority to act on its behalf.

Using BacklogDeck Your content Third-party integrations Plans and availability Ending your use Contact

1. Using BacklogDeck

BacklogDeck helps teams discuss and estimate work. You may use the service for lawful purposes in accordance with these terms and the permissions granted to you by your team. You must be legally capable of entering this agreement.

Provide accurate account information and protect your account credentials and sign-in links. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account and for deciding who receives room codes and invitations. Notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

Do not access another person's data without permission, bypass access controls or plan limits, disrupt the service, distribute malicious software, or use BacklogDeck to transmit unlawful, abusive or infringing content.

2. Your content and permissions

You retain your rights in the content you submit or import. You give BacklogDeck permission to host, process, copy and display that content as needed to provide the service, including sharing it with participants and team members who have access. This permission does not transfer ownership of your content to us.

You are responsible for having the rights and permissions to upload or import content and to share it with your room or workspace. Avoid including sensitive personal information that your team does not need for estimation. Your use of BacklogDeck does not grant ownership of the BacklogDeck service, branding or other users' content.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle account information, session data and integration credentials.

3. Third-party integrations, including Jira

Integrations are optional. When you connect Jira, you authorize BacklogDeck to access data using the permissions you grant through Atlassian or the API credentials you provide. You must be authorized to connect that account and import its content.

The Jira integration reads issues for import and estimation. It does not create, update or delete Jira issues or write estimates back to Jira. Imported tickets are copies in BacklogDeck; access to those copies follows BacklogDeck room and workspace permissions, including access for guests, rather than the original Jira permissions.

You can disconnect an integration in its settings and revoke OAuth authorization through the third-party provider. Disconnecting does not remove previously imported content or saved estimation results. See the Privacy Policy for deletion requests.

Google, Atlassian and other third-party services have their own terms and policies. Their availability, permissions and API limits may affect BacklogDeck features. BacklogDeck is an independent service and is not operated by Atlassian or Google.

4. Plans, trials and service availability

Features and usage limits depend on your plan. Current offerings are described on our pricing page. Trial and promotional access may expire or have eligibility conditions. Any purchase is subject to the pricing, billing and cancellation terms presented when you agree to that purchase.

We may improve, change or discontinue features. The service may be interrupted for maintenance, technical failures or circumstances outside our control. Keep copies of information you need; BacklogDeck is not an archival or backup service.

5. Suspension and ending your use

You may stop using BacklogDeck at any time. To request account deletion, contact [email protected]. Shared workspace data and retention exceptions are described in the Privacy Policy.

We may restrict or suspend access when necessary to address a violation of these terms, protect users or the service, or comply with law. Where reasonably possible, we will explain the restriction and provide an opportunity to resolve the issue.

6. Disclaimers and responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, BacklogDeck is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose or error-free operation. Estimates reflect participants' judgments and are not guarantees of delivery time or project outcomes.

To the extent permitted by law, BacklogDeck is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or business opportunities, arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or limits rights that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including mandatory consumer rights.

7. Changes and contact

We may revise these terms as BacklogDeck changes. We will publish the updated terms here with a revised date and provide any notice required by applicable law. If you do not agree to the updated terms, stop using the service.

For questions about these terms or to raise a concern, contact BacklogDeck at [email protected].
